New Hampshire Wildlife Photography

My troubles have help shape me into a more empathetic & resilient individual. I capture the secret, soft moments of wildlife just beyond my window using my canon eos r7; chickadees fluttering between pines, hungry otters bursting with speed to catch a crawfish, and beavers building hope one branch at a time.

Each scene’s a story of recovery, and nature’s silence; echoing my very hunger for peace and sense of safety. After a misscariage in 2023, I decided it was time to make the big camera purchase, and to really throw myself into learning about the life that sits with me here and now.

So many mornings I sit my roofs edge, camera in hand. The mornings dew lay still on the rusted metal roofing, making my feet tingle from the biting cold of a fresh start.

Holding my breath for beauty to emerge from the stillness, my images are made to help my inner pain. Constructed from endurance, and given to you with the hope that you too can feel the peace, inspiration, or strength in them. Even after winter’s longest stretch, the forest overflows into bloom once more. I present you with these images as gentle proof. Renewal is happening in the smallest, most feral places. As well as within ourselves.

I'm Emmy Ranson—a self-taught, free-spirited woman from the peaceful and rugged woods of New Hampshire's Albany. I learned to love nature and all its life in my teens when heading down into the depths of the woods was the only release from a chotic home and abuse. There, I found a safe haven, and where I started taking photos of the everyday animals just trying to survive, just like me. Gritty, low-rez, photos of plants and more on an old cellphone. trying to capture just a fraction of the peace I found there.
